A Review of "The Gospel According to Lost" by Chris Seay
I assume most people have watched or are aware of the TV program "Lost". Generally, the program is about a crash of a large passenger plane on a very unusual island. Actually, the program is primarily about the interaction of the crash survivors with the island and with those to whom are associated with island.
The author, Chris Seay, is also a Christian pastor. He analyzes the life of each of the main characters of the book with a Christian perspective even though the characters are not of the Christian faith. The characters of Lost are psychoanalyzed by the author suggesting their motives behind their actions. Anyone who is familiar with the Lost TV program will immediately recognize and may agree with the author's perspective of the characters.
Each chapter of the book is dedicated to different characters of the show. With each perspective of the author, he compares the actions or life of the character to a Bible verse or Bible principle.
As a Christian, one may expect that I would be in agreement with the author's perpectives, but honestly I don't agree. Even though the author, in my opnion describes the characters very accurately, I think he compares the lives and actions of the characters inaccurately with scripture.
The author's approach to Christianize Lost is a novelty rather than reality. I did enjoy reading this book because I watch the TV program.
